What happened to Photoshop?
Tried to see if I could get a copy of CS6 for the Mac and now it's all creative cloud crap!! - £8.57 pm too. Shit on it..

Anyone know if you can still get a kosher copy of the actual software for Mac.

Rubbed my knob on the screen and and needed cream from the doctor for a week.

Re: What happened to Photoshop?
I used to do a lot of photo editing and going through my old pics want to edit a batch of them. Like doing art work too, recolouring etc.

I'm edging towards the CC option.

What do you want to use it for?

There are alternative software solutions. Pixelmator or something like that is apparently just as good and cheaper.

You can download Creative Cloud for free, without needing to pay monthly, if you know where to look.

It's £8 quid a month, just pay it?

The CC plan is brilliant.

Cc is well worth it. With updates etc it works out much cheaper. You also get access to loads of free typefaces etc. I have the full creative suite, it's really not expensive if you use it. But crazy for light users though I suppose

Even on ebay, they are two or three hundred quid

Have you tried eBay - or any of the local businesses/colleges that are into graphics?

Their IT departments may well have some legit copies lying around.

Oh well, suppose I better download Vuze and have a look around.

Haven't done it for ages, don't mind paying for a kosher copy too but if there are none about then cracked it will have to be.

Yeah been trying Affinity, it's good but Photoshop has some better options. Also the online tutorial on the web for PS are so much better and I see little for Affinity. Example of this is layer blending options don't seem to exist in Affinity in the same way as PS.

I think you can get the install, but still have to pay the monthly fee. £100 is a year whereas I'd rather just buy and install once.

Re: What happened to Photoshop?
Yep - only available as a monthly subscription these days.
Have a look at a Affinity as a viable alternative -
https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/
Its a very good substitute on the Mac.

I think you can only rent it these days but I could be wrong.

Software as a Service it's known as.

With Office365 you sign up monthly but still can download an install, is that not the same with this?

Re: What happened to Photoshop?
I think there's plenty about on err, Torrents?
